Unincorporated urban Pierce County is expected to grow by 60,000 people from 2010-2030, and we are already seeing that growth happen in our communities. The Frederickson, Mid-County, Parkland-Spanaway-Midland, and South Hill Community Plans are currently being updated and Pierce County Planning and Public Works has put forward a concept to direct higher-intensity growth along the major transportation corridors of Pacific, Meridian, 112th, and 176th, with a focus of employment along Canyon Road. The presentation will explain this new concept, known as “Centers & Corridors,” and provide details about the proposal.
