My Credentials

My qualifications for evaluating real estate are the result of over 30 years of intensive experience as a real estate salesperson and broker. I have done countless valuations, primarily in San Juan County, have served as a professional witness, and been interviewed in the media several times as an expert on real estate in this region, including the New York Times, Conde Nast, the Seattle Times, Wall St. Journal and others. I am a member of the Counselors of Real Estate, a national organization composed of MAI appraisers, lawyers, and others with extensive real estate expertise, and with stringent qualifications for membership. For the bulk of my career in sales, I have commanded a leading market share, and am considered a regional expert on estate properties, commercial properties and private and non-ferry served islands. I have also headed up numerous community organizations, including serving as President of the local Board of Realtors, as a founding board member of Islander’s Bank, as a founding board member of the San Juan County Land Bank for preservation, and as the general partner for the Orcas Island Affordable Housing Project, which was federally funded. I have worked with dozens of appraisers and partnered with them in producing valuations. I have also helped facilitate dozens of shoreline permits for docks, commercial and residential construction, and variances due to my expertise with the unique planning issues in San Juan County.
